Which industry do you work in and what do you love and/or loathe about it?
I think it would be better for me to explain the industries I haven’t been in... YET! I feel as though there is nothing I can’t learn or get help with so nothing really puts me off. I have loved every job/position that I have had as it has taught me something else about business, life, and myself.
I have been on the bottom rung of the ladder and I have also been the owner of businesses. I have experienced it all, from monumental success to crippling hardship.
How did you get into your job/industry?
I have bought businesses and also created them. I've taken leaps of faith even when I knew I might fall flat on my face. You have got to be in the game to win it.
Have you always wanted to work in your industry?
No, it's not the industry that makes me want to be in it, it's the role that I play in them, to learn and better myself. I adore a challenge and dipping my toes into unknown waters.
Does it feel like a good 'fit' for you as a neurodivergent woman?
Yes, it completely suits me for the times when I can’t show up. I do what I can when I can and I no longer beat myself up when I can't get going. It's not my fault. But when I am on fire I keep the flames burning as long as possible.
Any anecdotes that you feel might be insightful?
Follow your dreams. Don’t be a square peg in a round hole. Turn your passion into profit. Don’t be stuck in the struggle. These are golden nuggets I swear by and would tell anyone else considering a deep dive into any form of entrepreneurship.
